March 2016 - New dental nurse joins the practice team

We are very happy to announce that Sue has joined us as a new trainee nurse. She has a lovely personality and is very supportive with nervous patients.

December 2015 - Practice sponsor Row Across the Atlantic in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and ABF, The Soldiers' Charity

We are proud to be one of the sponsors for local lad Pip Parsons, who, with Olly Clark, in December 2015 set out to row the 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in support of Prostate Cancer UK and ABF, The Soldiers' Charity. On the 31st January, 42 days, 17 hours & 59 minutes later they completed their journey, winning the pairs class!

November 2015 - Changing Lives in Africa £5 at a time

Dr Cheryl and Manny Mvula from Whitstable are the founding members of the High Five Club which runs various poverty-relief projects in the wildlife areas of Zambia and Kenya. Dentist Paul Downes, through the Rotary Club of Whitstable, raised £2,600 for this charity on a natural history themed Wine & Wisdom evening at Quex Park.

March 2015 - Practice Duo celebrate their success

Tracy (one of our receptionists) and Hannah (one of our dental nurses) successfully completed their Sprint Triathlon on Sunday 15th March at Whitstable Swimming Pool and Gym. This consisted of a 5k run, a 20k cycle and a 400m swim. They raised over £1,200 for the charity Cancer Research UK. Tracy and Hannah would like to thank all of the patients who kindly sponsored them for this event.

June 2014 - Shocking News!

We have bought an expensive piece of equipment for the practice which we hope we will never need to use!
The item is called an AED (automated external defibrillator). The machine can deliver a measured electric shock to the heart when someone is having a cardiac arrest (which is why we hope we never have to use it outside of a training session).
Sudden cardiac arrest occurs because the electrical rhythm that controls the heart is replaced by a chaotic disorganised electrical rhythm called ventricular fibrillation. The shock from the AED restores the heart's normal rhythm.
When someone goes into cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 10%. Being so close to the High Street means that we may even be able help with an emergency in our wider community.

April 2014 - Audit carried out on patient satisfaction

We carried out a patient satisfaction survey on 45 consecutive patients who had just finished their Social 6 braces treatment. The results were very reassuring and confirm that we are offering a high standard of care for our patients.

1st July 2013 - Change of dentists

Howard Paterson retired after 30 years at Kelvin House Dental Practice. Many thanks to all the patients who sent in cards expressing their appreciation for the excellent care they have received over the years.

We welcome Parm to our team of dentists and know that he will continue to provide the high level of service that our patients have come to expect.

CHARITY BIKE RIDE - 30th June 2013

A team of six from Kelvin House Dental Practice completed the 35 mile cycle ride in the Great Kent Bike Ride to support the East Kent Hospitals Charity.

Care Quality Commission Success

Our practice received its first CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspection in November 2012. We are very pleased to say that we passed all the standards required by the Commission.

Thank you to all our patients who spoke so well about their experiences with our practice.

New 3D printed clear aligners

We now offer digital Clear Aligners to our existing range of Social 6 braces at Whitstable. Our specialised laboratory use innovative 3D scanning and printing technology to create models for each stage of your treatment. A series of clear aligners are then made on the models. Each aligner is designed to move your teeth, little by little, until they reach their optimum position.

Clear Aligner Social 6 brace

The custom-made aligners are clear and slimline, so they won't affect your speech and no one it even notice that you are wearing them. Visit our Social 6 braces website for more information and download a 4 page brochure about Social 6 braces.
